Before I go.

- By Lesley Manning -
There wasn't time to say hello

There wasn't time to get to know,

The person who was right here, right now. There was only time for other things and busy is the way, it seems.

There wasn't time to see the sky or let the suns rays with kisses come.

There wasn't time to notice me, the person I was, not just the person people see.

I didn't see her go, I didn't know how to show her I loved her, as she drowned in her own sadness and despair.

Using everything she could to fill the void, I really wasn't there.

She just went past so quickly so fast.

So before it's too late, let me hug you very tight.

Before it's too late, let me get to know you and hold you.

You are the child I was, the child I must become.

Let's go forward together and touch the sky and feel the kissing sun.

Let's go hand in hand, it's not too late, don't worry.

Life has just begun.

By Lesley Manning
Explanation of poem
We go through life so fast, we miss so much. Most importantly we miss ourselves and time is thrown away on things that don't help us know ourselves. Very important to really discover who we really are and what purpose we have here.
