November 2026

November....

I put out my hand and tried to hold on to October,

Dark nights and sunshine crisp days,

The witching season has come and gone.

Hidden in the dead of night, gathering women, in sheer delight of celebrating each turn of the wheel, return home to prepare the next ritual and the return of light.

Apples fall and the leaves turn to gold,

Ancient England whispers stories of times Untold.

Tiny pumpkins run around the streets, gathering sweets and rotten teeth.

A passing through of spooky fun, Ghoulies and ghosties retreat and run, homeward now and back through the veil.

Did you see them, is that why you look so pale?

October I couldn't hold onto you.

November creeps in, with a damp wood fire smoke scent in the air.

Burning Guy’s body on a pyre. We gather together, celebrating the assisantion plot uncovered.

Hot soup and toffee apples, big bangs and dynamite fill the sky.

Sadly the birds and animal kingdom take fright and some die.

November starts to bed down into a winter's sleep.

Can we connect as the ancestors did?

Can we feel the change, inside our homes and streetlit towns?

Are we disconnected?

Can we smell the seasons in the dwellings of today?

Are we gathering together in the magic of night ritual?

Are we separating, focused inward but wanting to be outward?

Shall we then come together and mingle with the fae?

Shall we dance in a circle, Shall we conjure a power, a cone of energy that in our song and dance brings light into the darkness.

Spells for our Mother and spells for each other.

Telling know one, as secrets hold power.

With our intention we give back to the land, taking our Goddess and God by the hand, we, their children, must return the gifts of the Earth, replenish and plant for tomorrow.

Turn, turn the wheel of the season, turn into another delicious taste.

Mother Earth bestowes wonders that we must not waste.

Turn, turn, the wheel of the season, stepping into an autumn phase,

Slowly, slowly, my dance is weary, my wheel has come full circle so now I lie down with you and return to your beautiful embrace.
